從零一年租用火炭工作室起，我的創作成為在實踐當藝術家過程中所遭遇的種種紀錄，因此作品的內容與創作動機構成了一個內在的生態鏈。這個內在的狀態卻因為外在社會及環境的變化而產生內容，包括自覺地保持對社會的距離(租用火炭工作室)從而產生站立在第三者的角度觀看事物(政治冷感)，甚至逃離(出走到英倫或北京)。這份逃離除對我而言是重新認知自己成長的地方 – 香港及自己。
Since 2001 setting up studio in Fo Tan, my art is always the reflection of how I become an artist. Both the artworks’ content and motivation formed a chain reaction inside my mind. This is being changed with the outer world I experienced; including being an outsider and keep distance with the society, even escaping from hometown to other cities like London and Beijing. This helps me re-understanding the place I was born and grew up.

全球暖化
由於這個計劃將會成為一個世界旅程，而且會跨越不同文化及國家，因此，減省了文字，而由影像 (北極熊及亞熱帶雨林)及標誌 (雪山及問號)組成畫面。這個「藝術貨櫃」正好是向世界發出訊息的好機會。在這個計劃當中，我希望表達人們對氣候轉變的關注。世界上很多美麗的地方，甚至城市，由於氣候的改變而導致有消失的危機。因此，天氣影響著地球上生物的生存狀態，氣候的改變將生物及其生活環境可能產生錯配。北極熊及亞熱帶雨林同樣是地球上美麗的景象，但它們並不存在於同一時空。如果我們再不行動，我們將會因為天氣的改變而活在一個荒謬的環境之中。
Global Warming
The Art CONTAINER Project would be a good chance to deliver message to
the world. Since the project is going to take a journey around the world,
I am going to use images (Polar Bear, long leaves) and symbols (Mountain
and “?”) for better understanding in cross-culture context.
In this project, I would like express my concern on the climate change of our planet. There are many beautiful places (and even the city!) are going to be disappeared. Base on the concern of the impact of weather on living agents, I am planning to engage the Polar Bear with the surrounding of Topical Forest, which both are beautiful things of our planet but not suppose to be co-existed in the same space. It’s a metaphor and I think human is going to live in ridiculousness because of Climate Change if we dont act now.

Hong Kong - Beijing Return: A Conversation between artists Chow Chun-fai and Lam Tung Pang 4 -5 pm Representing a new generation of HK artists, Chow Chun-fai and Lam Tung-pang were amongst the first to establish studios in Fotan's industrial area in HK which now hosts over 70 artists in 20 studios. In 2007, they set up their second studio, in Beijing, joining a wave of Chinese and international artists settling in the culture capital. Both artists work and base themselves in both cities. After graduating in Fine Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chow Chun-fai lectured at the Hong Kong School of Design, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and currently teaches at the Hong Kong Art School. His work, which reinterprets classics and questions identity, has been collected by private and public collections, and exhibited in Europe and Asia. Exploring the relationship between objects and materials in his work, Lam Tung-pang has been awarded numerous scholarships and awards, including the Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s Art Scholarship, 2003 and the UK Hunting Art Prize's Young Artist of the Year award, 2005. Lam Tung-pang received a BA in fine art from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MA at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, London. For "Hong Kong Conversations", Chow Chun-fai and Lam Tung-pang will discuss the developments of their careers, and the challenges they face, taking from their experience in setting up studios in HK and Beijing. Where HK artists tend to take a more passive approach, Chow and Lam’s move to Beijing may be considered aggressive by their counterparts. How do they feel about their decision and how has it affected their art practice and careers? Having witnessed the Fotan phenomenon, what are their views on HK's position and situation?
