Hiking Arte - K11 Art Mall, 2009, Hong Kong

Hiking Arte - Travelling in Imaginary Landscape, Observing Inner Scenery
There is a concept of beauty in traditional Chinese painting, one that says the visual appreciation of a painting can replace and even surpass the experience of actual traveling through a landscape. In a similar manner, this exhibition invites the viewer to stroll through the shopping mall and be transported into nature while enjoying the artworks. 7 local artists, with their experience of modern urban living, reveals the relationship between man, city and nature. The works on display in the 18 frames and in between the elevator are windows to peer into nature, offering the viewer a chance to take pleasure in 'hiking without stepping into the wilderness'.
