Dialogue with museum by the window by Lam Tung Pang
I imagine that the architectural building of museum is the permanent collection of itself, even it might be passive, or nowhere to store.
Window, where different worlds are connected, is the best place to present the mixture of time and space. Past, Future and Now are existed in every moment. My interest for history and antique objects will just come about in a particular moment and space which will then push me to embark a journey of searching their stories. This is what a museum and its collection mean to me.
Therefore, I start with the museum building itself and the stories extended from the New Territories in where the museum is situated. After searching and studying the materials other than the museum collections, I come back and settle myself by the windows of the museum, hoping to leave another perspective to the audience and "writing" down the time and space of people and the society they are in.
